Friends and associates of Kitan Oyesiku have renewed calls on the Ogun State Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to uncover the circumstances surrounding her tragic killing, insisting that justice must not be delayed or denied.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by Oluwaseun Boye on behalf of the Friends of Kitan Oyesiku, the group described the late Kitan as “a peaceful, kind-hearted, and compassionate woman whose life was cut short in a cruel and senseless manner.”
The group said her death had left family members, friends, and loved ones devastated, adding that those responsible for the crime must be identified and prosecuted.
“Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done,” the statement read. “Bringing the perpetrators to justice will reassure the public that no life is insignificant and that criminal acts of this nature will not go unpunished.”
The friends also commended the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, and officers of the Ogun State Police Command for the efforts made so far in the investigation.
“We appreciate their commitment and encourage them to sustain the momentum until every individual connected with this heinous crime is identified, arrested, and prosecuted in accordance with the law,” the statement added.
The group, however, urged the Ogun State Government and all relevant authorities not to allow the case to be swept under the carpet.
Following an earlier public appeal for information, the friends again called on residents and members of the public to assist investigators with credible information that could aid the ongoing probe.
“If you know something, please say something,” they appealed. “Any credible information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be the breakthrough investigators need to ensure justice for Kitan.”
The group expressed hope that the truth surrounding the killing would eventually emerge and that those behind the crime would be brought to justice.
The statement ended with a simple but powerful message: “Justice for Kitan Oyesiku.”
