The Epe Local Government Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State, has inaugurated its 195-member PBAT-KOH 2027 Campaign Council, with prominent party leaders, political stakeholders and traditional rulers endorsing the party’s five candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration, held at the Council Secretariat under the theme “Lagos Forward Together,” featured the swearing-in of 195 members drawn from the Local Government Working Committee, ward executives, councillors, community leaders, women and youth representatives, among other stakeholders.
Addressing the gathering, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government and Co-Coordinator of the Campaign Council, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, underscored the importance of unity, strategic coordination, effective grassroots mobilisation and collective responsibility in advancing the party’s electoral aspirations.
She charged members of the Campaign Council to embrace their responsibilities with dedication, commitment and unwavering loyalty, stressing that the task ahead required a united front, purposeful leadership and sustained engagement with the people at the grassroots.
“It is my pleasure to be part of this committee, and I urge my fellow members to fully support the APC candidates, remain committed to strengthening the party’s presence across the local government and take the mobilisation exercise seriously to achieve the council’s objectives,” Princess Animashaun said.
Speaking at the event, a member of the APC Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Alhaji Akanni Sakiru Seriki, called on party members and residents to support the APC candidates, emphasising the importance of continuity in governance.
He endorsed the five candidates and urged stakeholders to work collectively towards securing widespread support for them ahead of the 2027 elections.
In his remarks, the Oloja of Epe Division and Paramount Ruler of Epe, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, Hon. Wale Raji and Hon. Abiodun Tobun for their contributions and efforts in their respective positions.
The traditional ruler called on residents and political stakeholders to support continuity in governance and representation, while encouraging the community to sustain its engagement with leaders at all levels of government.
In his acceptance speech, the Campaign Council Coordinator, Mr Giwa Idris Olayinka, expressed appreciation to the party leadership, elders and stakeholders for attending the inauguration.
He described the event as more than a formal gathering, saying it represented “the beginning of a collective responsibility anchored on dedication, discipline, purposeful leadership and shared progress.”
Olayinka charged members to remain proactive, dedicated and committed while upholding high standards of conduct and demonstrating integrity, accountability and loyalty in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He further stressed that the council’s success would not be determined by the positions occupied by members but by the quality of commitment and service they collectively rendered.
The Campaign Council is coordinated by Mr Giwa Idris Olayinka, with Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, the incumbent Chairperson of Epe Local Government, serving as Co-Coordinator.
A major highlight of the event was the endorsement of the APC’s five candidates, popularly described by party leaders as the “Perfect 5.” They are President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat for Lagos State Governor; Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru for Lagos East Senatorial District; Hon.
