Nigerian model and medical laboratory scientist Oma Osele has been crowned Miss Continental World 2026, earning international recognition after emerging victorious at the pageant’s grand finale in Ayutthaya, Thailand.
Osele outperformed contestants from different countries to claim the coveted international beauty title, putting Nigeria in the global spotlight and adding another milestone to the country’s growing presence in international pageantry.
India’s Shreeya Panda finished as first runner-up in the competition.
The 28-year-old Lagos-based beauty queen, who combines a career in medical laboratory science with entrepreneurship and modelling, also secured two special honours before the grand finale. She was named Queen of Africa, recognising her position as the highest-placed African contestant, and won the Best National Costume award for her representation of Nigerian culture through fashion.
Osele earned the opportunity to represent Nigeria internationally after winning EliteGlam Pageant Nigeria 2025, a victory that paved the way for her appearance on the global stage.
Her campaign gained further momentum in September when she won the World Premiere Award after securing the highest number of votes in a global fan poll hosted on Eventista’s 1Vote platform.
She finished ahead of India’s Monica Konjengbam and Thailand’s Pornpaya Rianju in the voting contest.
The World Premiere Award came with a media package that included official social media promotion and a press release distributed through Associated Press News, further expanding her international visibility ahead of the competition’s final stage.
Her eventual triumph at Miss Continental World 2026 marks the culmination of a pageant journey defined by audience support, national representation and success in multiple award categories.
Nigeria Also Celebrates Success in the Male Category
Nigeria recorded another notable achievement at the event, with its male representative, Unwana Sambo Essien, finishing third runner-up at the Mister Continental World 2026 finals, which took place on the same night.
Essien also claimed the King of Kings title and the Best National Attire award in the male category, giving Nigeria additional recognition at the international pageant.
The dual success highlighted the country’s presence across both the women’s and men’s competitions, with its representatives securing major placements and special awards.
Osele’s victory adds to Nigeria’s recent accomplishments on the international beauty pageant circuit.
Among the country’s recent standout performances was Chidimma Adetshina’s first-runner-up finish at Miss Universe 2024, a result that drew international attention to Nigerian representation in global pageantry.
Meanwhile, elated observers and fans said Osele’s victory at Miss Continental World 2026 would further strengthen Nigeria’s profile in the industry, highlighting the growing international visibility of Nigerian models and beauty queens.
Apart from the crown, her background in medical laboratory science and entrepreneurship adds another dimension to her public profile, reflecting a combination of professional expertise, business ambition and modelling.
The newly crowned Miss Continental World 2026 is expected to return to Nigeria in the coming days following her victory in Thailand.
As celebrations build around her achievement, Osele’s international success represents a proud moment for Nigeria’s pageant community and another opportunity to showcase the country’s talent, cultural identity and fashion on the world stage.
