Ode to the man whose name now travels through the corridors of public responsibility.
To the son of Ogun whose political journey has moved from aspiration to institutional assignment;
To the man who stepped into the contest of democracy, carrying the ambition to represent his people, and continued his journey through the changing tides of Nigeria’s political landscape.

Your story, as the public record presents it, is not a finished book. It is a chapter still being written, with every responsibility bringing a fresh test of character, competence, and conviction.
You came into the political arena through the Alliance for New Nigeria, ANN. The road later took you through the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before you found a place in the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Different platforms, different political seasons, but one enduring question followed you:
*What will you make of the opportunities placed before you?*
Then came the call to national service.
The Federal Commissioner representing Ogun State at the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission — a position that demands more than a title, more than a photograph, and certainly more than the applause that follows an appointment.
Here, the work concerns the nation’s resources, the principles of allocation, the pursuit of accountability, and the responsibility to ensure that public wealth serves public purposes.
And so, the financial mind meets the national assignment.
The professional meets the politician.
The aspirant meets a new test of service.
But, behold, there is another dimension to the story: the pursuit of knowledge amid the demands of public life. In July 2026, reports celebrated your achievement as the best graduating master’s student in Economics at Babcock University.
What a reminder that the mind needs not retire when public responsibility begins. What a lesson that leadership should never become an excuse to stop learning.
Yet, dear Akeem, the highest honour is not conferred by a university, a political party, or an appointing authority. It is the verdict of history, written in the lives of the people whose hopes leadership touches.
Let the youth find encouragement in your pursuit of advancement.
Let the community find meaning in your presence.
Let the party find strength in your capacity to organise.
Let the nation find value in your contribution.
Let every public assignment become an opportunity to prove that a position is not merely a privilege to occupy but a duty to discharge.
The chants will rise and fade.
The offices will change hands.
But the character of a man, revealed by what he does with power, will continue to speak when the microphones have gone silent.
Hon. Akeem Akintayo Amosun, this is your ode: not an assertion that your journey is complete but an invitation to make its next chapters worthy of remembrance.
May your ambition be guided by wisdom.
May your influence be tempered by humility.
May your loyalty never silence your conscience.
May your achievements be measured not merely by how far you rise but by how many lives are better because you rose.
And when tomorrow asks what manner of man stood in this season of Ogun’s political history, may the answer be found not only in the offices you held but in the good you did.
For a title announces a man; service explains him; and history delivers the final verdict.
