As part of the remains of his constituency and developmental projects across Lagos-West Senatorial District which equally as a parting gift, Senator Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) has inaugurated a storey building of twelve classrooms with solar energy powered water system at Ilogbo-Elegba Junior Grammar School in Oto-Awori LCDA, Lagos.
Though, the distinguished Senator is presently representing Ogun-West senatorial district, the need for him to officially hand over completed projects to beneficiaries became imperative for onward use.
According to the erstwhile Director General, Yayi Campaign Organisation of Lagos-West , Barr. Rajh-Label, Babatunde BIQ who represented him at the event, the need to give wholesome support for education has become a thing of great concern for the development of the society.
The inauguration on Monday which brought so much joy and fulfillment to the teachers and students for the facility that would enhance teaching and learning, he appealed to the school management to imbibe the culture of maintenance.
According to him ‘The handing over of this school today by Yayi is a way of saying thank you for your support thus far so please maintain it’.
While taking cognisance of his notable achievements as a foremost distinguished Senator in the red chamber of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he noted with difference that his superlative gestures in and around Lagos-West Senatorial District can not be compared with.
“I must say without mincing words that Distinguished Senator Adeola Olamilekan is an exemplar of excellence that will continue to propel meaningful initiatives and projects of great benefit most especially for the development of education; his concerns and unflinching determination to ensure people are uplifted is of paramount importance” he concluded.
Hon. Surajudeen Olatunji Tijani, the Lagos State House of Assembly Member representing Ojo Constituency 02 in his submission mentioned that no stone will be left unturned on his part to give support for initiatives that will enliven the education sector in the State; he however gave kudos to the Senator for providing additional enabling environment for learning to students of Ilogbo-Elegba.
In his appreciation, the Executive Chairman of Oto-Awori LCDA Prince Musibau Adekunle Asafa ably represented by the Supervisor for Education, Hon. Hassan Adebayo stressed that the essentials of education can not be quantifiable, adding that the Senator has proven to be a man of his words and this is just one out of so many he has done.
“Education is the live wire of any nation, it is the best legacy we can give to our children; I want to thank Senator Adeola for deeming it fit to bring this beautiful edifice to us, and to specially appreciate the effort of Hon. Kola Abiola for facilitating the project to Ilogbo-Elegba Grammar School”.
“To us in Oto-Awori LCDA, we shall continue to consolidate on the gains of the Lagos State Government and to also appeal to the School authorities to maintain the building so that upcoming students can benefit from the usage.
The Principal of the school, Mrs Okinbaloye Grace Mojisola was filled with joy and gladness knowing that the predicament faced by her students has been resolved. She thanked the benefactor for his gesture and appealed for more government presence in identifying the challenges faced by public schools in all ramifications.
Those who were present (apart from those above) at the occasion include Education Secretary Ojo LGEA Hon. Kola Abiola Esrom, campaign coordinator of Iba LCDA, Hon. Anita Abdul, Coordinator, Mr Bolaji Adele Solomon, coordinator, Badagry Local Government and Baale of Ilogbo-Elegba, Chief Amusa Tajudeen Alani among others.
