History was made once again for the Anioma people in Nigeria’s entertainment industry as Temitope Chigbue, popularly known as Temi Nkem, emerged winner of BBNaija Season 11.
Temi Nkem was crowned the winner at the grand finale of the reality TV competition on the night of October 4, 2026, after spending 70 days in the Big Brother house. She secured 25.87 per cent of the votes and takes home a ₦160 million prize package, comprising ₦90 million in cash and an SUV.
She was closely followed by Aikou, who emerged first runner-up, and Sheba.
The 21-year-old Temitope Chigbue was one of the season’s most visible and entertaining housemates, distinguished by her strong personality and screen presence. Her outspoken nature and willingness to express her views kept her at the centre of several major conversations and controversies in the house. Premium Times described her as one of the season’s most visible housemates.
The Anioma daughter from Ibusa also embraced the entertainment dimension of the competition, bringing humour, drama and theatricality to the house. Early in the season, she was involved in heated disagreements during wager rehearsals, including clashes with Cassi and Bluethopia. The house eventually lost that wager presentation, with Biggie citing problems with coordination and creative execution.
Although she was nominated for eviction early in the competition, Temi survived and steadily advanced through the competition, eventually earning a place among the nine finalists. Her journey from an early eviction nomination in Week 2 to the grand finale became one of the notable stories of the season.
The Ibusa community is not new to producing winners of major Nigerian reality television competitions.
In 2009, Uche Nwaezeapu, popularly known as “Uche Ben,” won Season 6 of Gulder Ultimate Search. He emerged victorious after finding the coveted “Horn of Valour” in Omodo Forest, Aagba, Osun State. He was 26 years old at the time.
Following his victory, Nwaezeapu ventured into acting, television presenting and film production, appearing in several Nollywood productions. He also received acting recognition at the 2022 Blue Screen Awards.
Temitope Chigbue hails from the Chigbue family of Isieke in Ibusa, Delta State. Although she was born and raised in London, England, her family roots remain firmly connected to Ibusa.
The Chigbue family of Isieke has a notable history in the community, having produced some of the earliest lawyers from Ibusa, including a judge.
With Temi Nkem’s victory, the Chigbue family and the wider Ibusa community have another reason to celebrate, while her achievement adds yet another chapter to the growing list of Anioma personalities making their mark on Nigeria’s entertainment landscape.
