The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has lauded the officers and men of the State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), for consistently providing a platform for reflection, learning and strategic planning in traffic management sector across the state
.
Deputy Governor Salako-Oyedele, an engineer, stated this at the ninth Annual TRACE Commanders’ Conference and Retreat for Senior Officers, with the theme,” Effective Traffic Data Collection and Protection Beyond Compliance”, described Officers and Men of the Agency as lifeline to countless road users in the state.

She said, “TRACE is not just an enforcement agency, it a lifeline for countless road users. Your commitment to ensuring orderliness in road management reflect directly on the safety and well-being of residents and visitors in the state. The reality of preventing accident and ensuring compliance are challenging, yet, you have remained steadfast. The state government recognises and commend you”.
Speaking earlier, State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, who acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the Agency at ensuring that motorways remain safe and secure for all road users and pedestrians, said the annual conference had become a platform that continues to shape the leadership of the Agency, by enhancing Commandants’ capacity and skill.
He reiterated that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration remains steadfast in its commitment at enhancing the capacity of its workforce, especially through training and retraining for efficient service delivery.
According to him, the government through constant organisation of trainings, seminars and conferences had been able to equip Civil/Public Servants with the requisite skills needed to succeed in their respective schedules, hence, the conference serves as an excellent example of government’s huge investment in building a more capable and responsive workforce.
Lending their voices, Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, Special Adviser on Security, AIG Sola Subair, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Corps Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin and Director, Fire Services, Engr. Fatai Adefala, lauded TRACE Corps for efforts at sustaining the annual event and unwavering commitment towards ensuring a safe motoring public, pledging that the collaboration between them would be strengthened, in order to create a safer environment for road users.
In his welcome address, Commander and Chief Executive Officer, TRACE, Commander ‘Seni Ogunyemi, said the event was crucial in the rapidly evolving landscape of public safety, planning and transportation management, noting that there was a decrease of 36.26 percent in the number of cases recorded in 2024 compared to last year.
He expressed confidence that the conference would be a springboard for new ideas and meaningful collaborations, aimed at equipping the Corps to meet future challenges with more resilience and effectiveness that would guide the state’s multimodal strategic transport master plan for economic and industrial opportunities.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Area Commander Abeokuta metropolis and environs, Cmdr. (Dr.) Sonde Olubori, lauded the state government and management of TRACE for the regular capacity building to improve their skills and knowledge.
Highlight of the conference was the presentation of excellent award to the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, Permanent Secretaries, Bureaux of Establishments and Training, as well as Cabinet and Special Services, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo and Alhaji Olanrewaju Saka respectively, for their rare and exceptional resilience in providing human capacity development in road safety matters.
