Ogun Central Senatorial Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Sina Aroyeun, has given insight into why he reckoned himself as the best hand to represent the Egba people in the next Senate.
Ogun Central is quite critical to the history of the Gateway State and to a significant extent, dictates its political dynamics and climate. Aside being the most populous among the state’s three senatorial districts, it is also home to many of the living great sons and daughters of the state, including the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Adedotun Gbadebo, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Nobel laurette, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Chief Alani Bankole, the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson among others. Ogun Central hosts Abeokuta, the Capital City and seat of the Ogun State Government.
The former state lawmaker described the Labour Party as the third force in the coming election that will trounce both the candidates of APC and PDP.
He told newsmen that the critical stakeholders in Ogun Central politics are committed to ensuring that he emerged as the next senator to represent them, explaining that the candidates of both APC and PDP in the senatorial election are unacceptable to the zone.
Aroyeun also dismissed the candidates of APC and PDP as people lacking the capacity and the goodwill to win the senatorial election next Saturday.
According to him, he got the confidence to strive towards succeeding the outgoing Senator Amosun based on the alleged non – acceptance of the APC candidate among his party loyalists while the candidate of People’s Democratic Party is deemed not competent at all to represent the zone.
