The Minority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Lukman Adeleye, has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for what he described as a pattern of responsive and people-centred governance, even as he urged the state government to prioritise the reconstruction of the Odogbolu–Okun Owa–Obalende Road.
Adeleye, who made the call in Odogbolu, said the road reconstruction has become an urgent necessity to ease the daily hardship faced by commuters and residents.
He noted that the road, once fixed, would serve as a major alternative corridor, reducing the growing pressure on the expressway and improving movement across communities.
The Minority Leader praised Governor Abiodun for consistently responding to issues raised on the floor of the Assembly, describing the gesture as a testament to the governor’s commitment to community needs and infrastructural development.
He cited the recent award of the 5km Itanrin–Molode–Sabo Road as a direct outcome of his legislative engagements and the governor’s willingness to act swiftly.
According to the opposition legislator “This is not the first time the governor has responded to a clarion call like this,” Adeleye said.
“Being in opposition does not mean we would not be factual when something good is done. The Governor acted promptly when I moved the motion on the Erinlu/Imosan/Imodi Road and again when I raised the issue of the poor condition of FEGO Road in Odogbolu, among others. This pragmatic approach continues to ease the pains of road users across the state.”
Expressing further appreciation, Hon. Adeleye thanked the Commissioner for Finance, Chief Dapo Okuboyejo, whom he described as “a good ambassador of the Ijebus.”
He commended the commissioner’s role in ensuring that infrastructure deficits within the local government are being addressed and gradually reduced to the barest minimum.
Adeleye expressed confidence that the Odogbolu–Okun Owa–Obalende Road would soon receive similar attention, urging the government to prioritise the project in the overall interest of the people.
