There is no doubt that the Council Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Ogun State, Hon. Abdulsalam Ayorinde, is working to rekindle hope in governance at the grassroots level.
Ayorinde on Tuesday and Wednesday commissioned Construction Of Modern Health Facility At Sabo Obasa Oke- Ogun, Abeokuta, Solar Powered Bore hole and Toilet at Local Government Area office, Ita-Iyalode, Solar Powered Borehole at ANLG Primary School, Akomoje, Rehabilitation of legislative Block at Abeokuta North Local Government Secretary, Akomoje, Construction of Modern office Complex at Abeokuta North Local Government Secretariat, Akomoje, Rehabilitation of MARRIAGE REGISTRY, ABEEB AJAYI Multi-Purpose Hall and NIN Building at Abeokuta North Local Government Secretariat, Akomoje, Commissioning of Solar Powered Borehole at Abeokuta North Local Government Secretariat, Akomoje.
Ayorinde while speaking with newsmen appreciated the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun for allowing the Local Government to function, saying that if not Governor Abiodun he won’t be able to perform as chairman.
He also commended the Supreme Court for granting Autonomy to all Local Governments in the country, saying that it is a welcomed development.
Ayorinde said “With the local government autonomy, it is an added advantage, though our governor has been doing well, and he has always been in support of LG Autonomy. We want to assure our people that we will continue to give back to them.
He added that what he has done is to key into the agenda of Prince Dapo Abiodun which is “Building our future together”
“I keyed into the governor’s agenda in making the grassroots enjoy democracy the governor has been so supportive of the grassroots, and he has been taking care of the LG, without him, the local government would not be what it is today”. He concluded.
The beneficiaries of the laudable projects commissioned by the Council Chairman appreciated him for remembering them, saying that he is a man of his words.
The APC chieftains and members of the party, Teacher of some primary schools showered encomium on the chairman for fulfilling his promise.
The Chairperson of All Progressives congress, APC in the Local Government, Alhaja Faidat Sarummi Akintunde congratulated the Chairman and his team for the laudable achievements, urging other chairmen to emulate such.
Akintunde said Ayorinde has transformed the Local Government, saying that he has performed beyond the expectations of the people.
Other dignitaries present were the Chieftains and members of APC in Abeokuta North, Vice Chairman Councilors , former Councilors, the Head of the local government, staffs.
At the end of the event, the council chairman also presented Award of excellence to some people due to their contributions to their contribution to the development of the local government.
