Outgoing Vice-Chancellor of University of Delta, Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, has expressed deep appreciation to the institution’s community following the conclusion of her five-year tenure as the pioneer head of the university.
In a heartfelt message addressed to staff, students, and stakeholders, Chiemeke described her time in office as a period defined by collective effort, resilience, and shared vision, noting that the achievements recorded were the product of unity and collaboration.
She particularly commended members of the university community for their support and participation in activities marking the end of her tenure, highlighting the Thanksgiving Service held at St. Ebenezer Anglican Church, Ekwuoma as a deeply humbling and memorable event.
According to her, the steady growth and development witnessed at the institution over the past five years were made possible by the dedication and sacrifices of both academic and non-academic staff, as well as the commitment of students and other stakeholders.
“Together, we laid a solid foundation and fostered a culture of excellence that has positioned the university for sustained growth and relevance,” she said, adding that the successes recorded remain a shared legacy rather than individual accomplishments.
Reflecting on her tenure, Chiemeke said she departs with fond memories of teamwork and goodwill, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve and for the strong sense of community that defined her administration.
She also extended appreciation on behalf of her family, praying for continued success, good health, and prosperity for members of the university community.
Chiemeke’s exit marks the end of a foundational era at the University of Delta, Agbor, where she played a central role in shaping the institution’s early direction and institutional culture.
