Popular Nigerian skit maker and influencer Carter Efe has stirred fresh controversy after publicly challenging Afrobeats superstar Wizkid to a celebrity boxing match.
Carter Efe made the bold declaration during a livestream session with music star Kcee and businessman E-Money shortly after receiving a ₦50 million cash prize from E-Money.
Palpably excited by the moment, the influencer claimed he was ready for a bigger fight after previously defeating controversial singer Portable in a celebrity boxing bout.
Speaking confidently during the session, Carter Efe said Wizkid had now become his preferred opponent in the ring.
He further sparked reactions online after mentioning the singer’s son, Boluwatife Balogun, saying he wanted him present during the proposed showdown.
“The person I want to fight now is Wizkid, and I want his son, Boluwatife, to be there too. Let him come and collect the championship from me if he is man enough,” he said.
The latest outburst appears to be connected to Carter Efe’s long-standing grievance against Wizkid. The comedian had previously accused the Grammy-winning singer of failing to support him despite releasing the tribute song Manchala in Wizkid’s honour.
While Carter Efe has repeatedly taken verbal shots at the singer over the issue, Wizkid has continued to maintain silence and is yet to react to the boxing challenge.
