The member representing Odogbolu State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Lukman Olalekan Adeleye, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) for the 2027 state assembly election in Ogun State.
Adeleye emerged winner after securing a landslide victory in the party’s primary election on Wednesday.
The serving lawmaker, who is seeking re-election clinched the APC ticket at the primary election, held amid adequate security and peaceful conduct, which followed earlier consensus arrangements within the party.
Several aspirants voluntarily withdrew from the primary race in the interest of party unity and cohesion.
In his acceptance remarks shortly after the declaration of results, Hon. Adeleye described his emergence as a collective victory for the APC in Odogbolu, insisting that the process represented a “No Victor, No Vanquished” situation.
According to him, the outcome reflected the maturity, discipline and commitment of party leaders and members towards sustaining peace and strengthening the APC ahead of the general election.
He expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, for his leadership role and commitment to peace within the party.
Adeleye also commended Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola for his support, leadership and fatherly guidance, which he said had continued to inspire confidence among party faithful across Ogun State.
The lawmaker further praised the aspirants who stepped down from the race in line with the directive of the governor and party leadership, describing their actions as demonstrations of loyalty, sacrifice and dedication to party supremacy.
The aspirants who withdrew from the contest include Hon Ola Olufunmilayo, Hon. (Dr.) Seun Sokan, Hon. Atinuke Bello, Hon. Adeniji Wasiu, Hon. Dennis Ogunaike, Hon. Adetayo Moshood, Hon. Ilusanya Folabomi, Hon. Ogunbanwo Jumoke, Hon. Adenuga Eniade, Hon. Buraimoh Ismail, Hon. Adeniyi Sheyi (Imole De), Hon. Adenugba Ireti, Hon. Aranse and Hon. Kazeem Sulaimon.
He noted that their sacrifices would not be forgotten, adding that history would remember their patriotism, maturity and commitment to the growth of the APC and Odogbolu State Constituency.
Hon. Adeleye also thanked APC leaders, elders, stakeholders, ward executives, youth groups, women groups, all members of the constituents and loyal party members across Odogbolu Local Government for their trust and support.
He pledged to continue providing inclusive representation, quality leadership and grassroots development for all communities within the constituency.
