Hon. Lukman Olalekan Adeleye, of the People’s Democratic Party, representing Odogbolu State constituency and Hon. Rasheed Kashamu, son of late Senator Buruji Kashamu have emerged principal officers of the 10th Legislative Assembly of Ogun State.
While Hon. Adeleye emerged the Minority Leader of the newly inaugurated State House of Assembly, Rasheed Kashamu (PDP), who is representing Ijebu North I Constituency in the Ijebu North Local Government area of the State, was named the Minority Whip.
Speaker Kunle Oluomo announced the appointment on Thursday while filling positions for principal officers of the 26 – member Assembly during the house’s plenary.
Oluomo also named other principal officers including: Deputy speaker- Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi, Hon. Yusuf sheriff Abiodun – Majority leader, Hon. Adeniran Ademola -Deputy majority leader, Hon. Bakare O. Oluwayemisi – Chief whip, Hon. Tella O. Babatunde phD – Deputy chief whip, Hon. Atobatele L. Olajide – Deputy minority leader, Dickson k. Awolaja – Deputy minority whip.
Reacting to his appointment, the house minority leader, Hon. Adeleye Olalekan in his statement pledged to contribute meaningfully to the decision making process of the house in accordance with the burning desires and issues concerning Ogun people.
He also promised to work hand in hand with other principal officers and other members of the house throughout his service in the Assembly.
Adeleye prayed that God would help the speaker and other elected officers in the conduct of the affairs of the Assembly throughout their stay in office.

The Ogun State House of Assembly has announced the appointment of Late Buruji Kashamu’s son, Rasheed Kashamu, and others as Principal Officers.
Recall that the Assembly, which was inaugurated on Tuesday elected Olakunle Oluomo as the Speaker while Mrs Bolanle Ajayi emerged the Deputy Speaker.
The Speaker, Oluomo, on Thursday, announced the new officers while presiding over the plenary session at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
According to Oluomo, the announcement followed internal arrangements amongst the lawmakers.
The Presiding Officers are the member representing Ado-Odo/Ota I State Constituency, Yusuf Sherif as Majority Leader, his Sagamu II Counterpart, Adeniran Ademola emerged as the Deputy Majority Leader, just as the member representing Ijebu-Ode State Constituency, Olanrewaju Bakare emerged as the Chief Whip, Babatunde Tella representing Abeokuta North, would be the Deputy Chief Whip.
Lukman Adeleye representing Odogbolu State Constituency is the Minority Leader while Lukmon Atobatele of Abeokuta South was named the Deputy Minority Leader.
