Women’s hurdles world record-holder, Tobi Amusan, has said she has been charged and slammed with provisional suspension for alleged anti-doping rule violation.
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) accused Tobi Amusan of evading doping test three times.
The athlete disclosed this on Wednesday.
There is fear that this may affect her chances of participation in next month’s world championships.
“Today the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has charged me with an alleged rule violation for having 3 missed tests in 12 months,” she said in a post on Instagram.
The Ogun State born Nigerian athlete won the current world record for the women’s 100m hurdles of 12.12 seconds in last year’s World Athletics Championships.
Amusan, 26, says she is prepared to resolve the charges against her before this year’s competition slated for next month in Budapest.
