Residents, market women, and other community members in Iberekodo, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, have commended Nehemiah’s Vision for its free medical outreach, describing it as a timely intervention that has improved access to healthcare in the community.
The outreach provided a range of free healthcare services, including blood pressure checks, Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments, blood sugar tests, consultations with medical doctors, and free prescribed medications.
Speaking on behalf of the community, Mrs. Olapeju Ogunsola and Mrs. Funmilayo Soetan expressed gratitude to the organisers and appealed for similar outreaches to be extended regularly to neighbouring communities.
In her welcome address, a director at Nehemiah’s Vision, Nurse Iyabode Ilupeju, emphasised the importance of early detection in preventing medical emergencies.
She urged residents to prioritise routine medical check-ups and avoid self-medication to safeguard their long-term health.
Addressing local traders, Nurse Ilupeju also encouraged healthier lifestyle choices, advising them to drink plenty of water, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and reduce their consumption of carbonated drinks.
The Iberekodo outreach forms part of Nehemiah’s Vision’s ongoing monthly free medical screening initiative, which continues to provide essential healthcare services to communities across Ogun State.
