Mrs. Mary Oyedokun, widow of Mr. Michael Oyedokun, the teacher reportedly killed during the recent attack on a school in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, has appealed to governor Seyi Makinde, and the law enforcement agencies to help recover her husband’s remains.
The distraught widow urged the Governor and other relevant authorities to intensify efforts to locate the body, saying the family deserves the opportunity to give the slain teacher a proper and dignified burial.
Speaking through tears over the tragic incident in Oyo State, Mrs. Oyedokun — whose emotional plea in a viral video has drawn widespread attention — said the family has been devastated by the loss and the uncertainty surrounding her husband’s remains.
She appealed to security operatives and government agencies not to relent in the search, expressing hope that her husband’s body would be found and returned to the family for burial rites and bring a closure to the traumatizing loss.
The Daily Crucible reports that teacher Oyedokun was among the people that were abducted when gunmen invaded Esiele community and abducted staff, students and pupils from Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, as well as L.A. Primary School.
Days after, he was said to have be shot and beheaded by the suspected terrorists who also showed a footage of the purportedly horrifying beheading, but the Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) had said it was investigating and reviewing the video to ascertain the true situation of things.
