The Ogun State Chapter, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has congratulated a former Governor of Ogun State and current Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, on the momentous occasion of his 70th birthday.
The professional body noted that the milestone celebration “marked seven decades of a life devoted to public service, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the progress of our dear State and great nation, Nigeria.”
In a statement signed by Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye and Mr. Kunle Olayeni, Chairman and Secretary of the Chapter respectively, the Ogun NIPR hailed Daniel’s contributions as a professional engineer, successful businessman, and quintessential politician.
Daniel, fondly called OGD, served as governor between 2003 and 2011 and was elected Senator in 2023.
According to Ogun NIPR, the former governor’s commitment to good governance, innovation, and people-centric policies transformed the state’s image and earned it the esteemed reputation as industrial destination of choice.
The Chapter specifically acknowledged his efforts to develop education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, commerce, transportation and sports, among other sectors, noting that the former governor left a lasting legacy that continues to inspire and motivate upcoming generations.
