An enraged 21-year-old lady has allegedly stabbed her live-in lover to death in Delta State during a fight.
The Delta State Police Command has since arrested the lady identified as Lilian.
She allegedly attacked the father of her two children with a kitchen knife, thrusting it into his chest when the 34 – year – old live – in – lover charged towards her in the heat of the fatal fight.
It was learnt that she had cohabited with him for four years since she was 17 without formal marriage and they had two children.
The state police command spokesman, Mr. Bright Edafe, a Superintendent of Police (SP), who confirmed the incident to the press said the woman had been arrested.
It was also gathered that she dropped out while in the second year of Senior Secondary School (SS2) and that a recent attempt by the young man to end the relationship caused the fight leading to his death.
Edafe said that during interrogation, the lady claimed the man attempted to end their relationship, leading to a quarrel.
“She said that he beat her with a cane and smashed her head on the ground before she rushed to the kitchen to get a knife.
“When he advanced towards her despite warning him to stay away, she stabbed him.”
