The Chairman Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Babatunde Diya, has presented a total of Five Billion, Three Hundred and Fifteen Million, Six Hundred and Five Thousand Naira (5,315,605,000.00) budget proposal to the Council legislative arm for 2025 fiscal year.
Presenting the budget on Tuesday, April 15 before Rt. Hon. Adesoye Akeem Tunde – led council legislators, Diya said the N5.3Bn appropriation represents not just a financial plan for the year, it’s also a blueprint for progress, equity and sustainable development in Odogbolu LGA.
He explained that it will further enhance charting of a new path for sustainable growth and development for the LGA.
He also said that his administration focuses on inclusiveness, prosperity and excellence, stressing that the 2025 budget also prioritizes infrastructural development, education, human capital development, healthcare, economic empowerment and jobs creation.
Diya added that the administration deliberately prepared the year budget specially to spread dividends of democracy across the 15 wards of Odogbolu Local Government.
According to him, adequate provisions have also been made for projects that would impact meaningfully to the people.
A breakdown of it showed that the year 2025 budget would focus on continuous projects, grading and construction/ rehabilitation of roads agriculture development and natural resources, education and market development.
Other areas marked to more attention are health care, sustainable energy options, entertainment, sports and recreation, public, private, partnership(PPP) initiatives.
The council chairman assured that all funds would be spent judiciously to yield maximum benefits to the indigenes and residents of the LGA, even as he used the avenue to appeal for cooperation and support on payment of rates, licenses and fees due to the Council.
Responding, leader of the Legislative arm, Akeem Tunde, commended the Chairman for his giant strides in taking the LGA to greater heights, pledging unalloyed support, while further assuring the Chairman of a speedy passage of the Budget within the ambit of laws guiding the State and Local Government respectively.
In attendance at the budget presentation were: the Vice- Chairman, Princess Victoria Adeyinka, the council legislators, , Secretary to the Local Government(SLG), Deacon Stanley Olunogun; supervisors; special advisers; head of local government administration, Mr.Awobotu Victor, directors/heads of departments, clerk of the house, Mr.Muraino Gbadebo, Iyaloja – General, Mrs. Muyibat Adebanjo; amongst others.
