The Borno South Youth Alliance (BOSYA) has raised urgent concerns, calling on government leaders, philanthropists, and key stakeholders to act swiftly following a 72-hour ultimatum reportedly issued by Boko Haram over 416 abducted individuals.
The appeal comes amid ongoing mediation efforts aimed at securing the release of women and children kidnapped from Ngoshe community in Borno State.
In a statement signed by its President, Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama, the group revealed that intelligence gathered during the mediation process indicates that the insurgents have escalated pressure by issuing a final warning.
According to BOSYA, a video message was sent outlining the group’s demands, including a ransom of ₦5 billion for the release of the captives. Instructions on how the release process would be executed were also reportedly communicated.
Describing the situation as critical, BOSYA urged top government officials—including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum—to intervene immediately.
The group also appealed to prominent Nigerian business figures such as Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad Rabiu, along with other influential northern philanthropists, to support efforts to secure the victims’ release.
BOSYA emphasized that the situation represents a grave humanitarian crisis requiring urgent, coordinated action driven by compassion and unity.
