Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin, intercepted an ammunition courier and apprehended a suspected logistics supplier in separate operations across Kaduna State.
The operations, carried out on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, targeted terrorist hideouts, arms movement and logistics networks in Kubau, Igabi and Birnin Gwari Local Government Areas of the state.
This was disclosed on Thursday in a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
Col. Danja also disclosed that in the early hours of Wednesday, troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, identified as a hideout of terrorists in Kubau Local Government Area.
The operation, he stated, led to the arrest of a suspected terrorist kingpin and two alleged members of his syndicate.
The suspects have been taken into military custody for further investigation.
In a separate operation later that day, troops acting on credible intelligence intercepted the movement of terrorist ammunition in Igabi Local Government Area and arrested a 50-year-old woman allegedly serving as an ammunition courier.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspect had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists operating in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
Troops recovered 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag in her possession. She and the recovered ammunition remain in military custody as investigations continue.
Also on Wednesday, troops of Sector 1, working with a community vigilante group, arrested another suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
A search of the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorists. The suspect and the recovered items have also been handed over for further investigation.
The Joint Task Force said the operations underscored its continued efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, restrict their freedom of movement and prevent the circulation of arms, ammunition and other logistical supplies within its area of responsibility.
The military commended members of the public for their support and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements and activities to the nearest security agency.
