Omoluabi Parapo Conservative Group has affirmed the faith of the yoruba ethnic group in one and indivisible Nigeria, stressing that the country must work for everyone, including the Yoruba.
The group called on Nigerians to pay attention to the country’s diversity and put it into perspectives in their relationship with others, adding that the Yoruba must be respected as a distinct people with unique history, structure and identity.
Obabìnrin Aderonke Okeleye, who made this known on Wednesday during the group’s media parley in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, said that the Yoruba land would no longer watch in silence while others tried to define her destiny.
Obabinrin Okeleye lamented the seeming absence of a strong voice for the race in recent times, recalling that Egbe Omo Oduduwa and Afenifere were at different times and political dispensations, provided strong voice for the race but noted that the situation has changed today.
She urged Yoruba leaders to focus on infrastructural development and human capacity building of the youth, saying both formed the true wealth of a nation.
”Infrastructure is important, but human capacity is the true wealth of a nation. We want our youths empowered, our culture respected, our leaders answerable, and our people united under shared purpose.
”We believe in a Nigeria that works — but it must work for everyone, including the Yoruba. We do not seek division; we seek fairness. We are proud Nigerians, but we must be respected as a distinct people with history, structure, and identity.
”Omoluabi Parapo Conservative Group stands for integrity, unity, and progress. We are not here to compete; we are here to complete the unfinished work of our ancestors,” she said.
