The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, OGBC Chapel has felicitated one of its own, Comrade Waheed Ogunjobi, on his outstanding academic achievement, a PhD in Policy and Strategic Communication from Lagos State University.
The Chapel, in a statement by its Chairman, Comrade Chris Ogbu and Secretary, Comrade Elizabeth Kuforiji, noted that Dr Ogunjobi’s latest accomplishment did not come as a surprise, going by his commitment to pursuing excellence.
“As a dedicated Journalist for over two decades and author, Dr Ogunjobi’s accomplishment did not come to us as a surprise but reflects his exceptional dedication, discipline, and sustained commitment to scholarly excellence”.
According to the NUJ OGBC Chapel, through sustained dedication and years of rigorous research and study, the new Academic Egghead has satisfied a strong desire for advanced knowledge and deepened expertise in Policy, Strategic Communication, and Public Discourse.
“As he gets hooded on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 as a PhD holder, we are of the utmost belief that this new milestone will further strengthen his ability to contribute meaningfully to OGBC’s mission of delivering accurate, impactful, and well-informed news”, the statement adds.
While celebrating Dr Ogunjobi for reaching this academic milestone, the Union expressed confidence that he will bring his expertise to bear both in the academia and in the field of journalism and wished him continued success as he embarks on further academic journeys.
