The National University Commission (NUC) has approved 12 academic programmes for University of Delta Agbor, Delta State.
The approved programmes are Medicine & Surgery, Nursing Science, Public Health, Medical Laboratory Science, Geography & Environmental Management, Peace and Conflict Studies, Animal Science and Agriculture.
Others are Crop Science, Home Science and Management, Physical and Health Education which has now been broken into Human Kinetics and Sports Science as well as Health Education.
The Approval, it was learnt, was communicated to UNIDEL in a release by the NUC after a successful Resource Verification Visit carried out by a panel of experts.
The Vice – Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke also corroborated the Approval during the institution’s Senate meeting on October 16, 2023.
All the Approved programmes would commence during the 2023/2024 academic session.
The Daily Crucible further reports that since the university took – off in 2021 after it was formally established by the then Governor, Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, as one of his landmark legacies in the Oil bearing Delta State, the pioneer Vice Chancellor; Prof. Stella Chiemeke, a Computer Scientist, has continued to record success stories for the institution with her purpose – driven leadership style, including positioning the University to steadily expand and deepen the frontiers of knowledge through teaching, research, learning and manpower training for the future needs of the State, Nigeria and the dynamic global stage
