Full Statement
Labour Party further warn the organised labour unions not to wage war against Nigeria, the rule of law, the citizens and constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
LABOUR PARTY wishes to bring the attention of the President and Commander in chief of Armed forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to Comrade Joe Ajaero-led NLC and Festus Osifo led TUC to wage war against the country and constitution in their flagrant attempt to cause economy sabotage and ground the nation’s economy to zero with unlawful acts through their proposed strike on 8th of November, 2023 which is ill-conceived, unlawful and a confirmed attempt to ventilate their anger against the supreme Court judgement that dismissed Peter Obi worthless petition in less than 120 seconds
The National Industrial Court had further ordered the labour unions to halt any strike, pending further determination of the matter in the court, so why is Joe Ajaero and the leadership of the organised labour unions threatening to plunge the nation into economic crisis?
The Labour Party calls on President Tinubu to immediately order the deployment of Armoured Tanks, Artillery Guns, surface to missiles, Attack Aircraft and War ships and put the Chief of Defense Staff and other service chiefs on alert so as to contain the impending sabotage of our country economy through the impending unlawful activities of the Labour unions with their impending violent protest.
The undemocratic activities of the entire leadership of the NLC and TUC is a coup to democracy and rule of law. We expect the NLC and TUC members to toe the path of patriotism to save the nation’s fledgling democracy or their actions will be seen as waging war against the President of the federal Republic of Nigeria and the country.
On the allegations of manhandling of the NLC President,Comr. Joe Ajaero by the police, which prompted the labour unions to call for the redeployment of the CP IMO State command and request for further re deployment of the DPO Owerri and all police officers, the Bashiru Lamidi Apapa led Labour party calls on the NLC President to provide the proofs that he was tortured and abducted by the Police.
We also challenge him to tell Nigerians who rescued him from his alleged abductors, where was he rescued and who provided the NLC rescuers with weapons?
The LP is however aware that the NLC is a political machinery of Peter Obi, with a clear cut expression of their frustration over the loss of their preferred presidential candidate in the 2023 general election to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
The Labour Party expects the NLC President to fight for the rights of the 15,000 ghost workers discovered by Gov. Hope Uzodinma of Imo State if they really exist or at least bring them out for the public to see.
Further more on the proposed strike by the NLC and TUC,the Labour party calls on President Tinubu to resist any attempts to ground the nation or picket the economy under any guise by the organised labour unions.
Any form of economic sabotage by the NLC and TUC must be strictly resisted by the entire constituted authorities, now that the nation needs economic revamping.
The Joe Ajaero-led NLC and Festus Osifo-led TUC must be called to order from issuing threats to the peaceful co-existence of the nation. The LP has severally made its stance known that the NLC and TUC are not political parties, but organised labour unions, whose core mandates are to lawfully fight for the rights of the citizens from being trampled upon, by any body or Government authorities.
What played out in Imo State should be condemned by all lovers of democracy. It is morally wrong for Ajaero and his co – travellers to have declared war on his State few days to the election, is like he was using his position as a Union Leader to curry support for his Political Party, Labour Party.
The timing and the strategy is strongly wrong, why wait till election period before the ultimatum. Why did he personally lead the assault on his State, and whose candidate is he supporting for Imo Governorship seat.
For every discerning mind, what we should be agitating for is the resignation of Joe Ajaero as NLC President and shop for a neutral Unionist who do not have affiliation with any Political Parties, but the interest of Nigeria and Nigerian Workers.
Any thing Ajaero says or do can’t be trusted, or how can the so called Union Leader lead a ‘troup of army’s to Labour Party Secretariat, claiming that he was there to chase out ‘rodents’, and so many unprintable names against a political group within Labour Party.
Yet, Nigerians see nothing wrong with his actions. So many of his actions which were visible showed that Joe Ajaero is fighting for his interest and that of his political party.
The Imo scenario is part of his expansionist agenda, unfortunately Nigerians fell for it, but as a responsible Political Party and Leader, it is very important that we alert Nigerians to his antics.
The Leadership of NLC must recuse Ajaero as NLC President, he should also be probed in order to sanitize the labour movement so that the masses and Nigerian workers will regain the trust of the labour movement.
The Party also sees the call for a nationwide strike as economic sabotage. How does an Imo action concerns Sokoto State or Ogun State. The call for National Strike is like the Union wants to bully the government to dance to illegal and parochial interest of Joe Ajaero.
The government should as a matter of urgency invoke the necessary action against all economic saboteurs who are hell bent in taking Nigeria back to dark ages.
It is Our believe that with Supreme Court verdict, all politics must have ended and all well meaning Nigerians must support government for It to succeed in the task of repositioning the country.
Let Ajaero and his co travellers let Nigeria breath.
The survival of the nation is more important than the selfish interests of a few individuals, hiding under the NLC and TUC to push the illegal candidate of Peter Obi, Sen Athan ACHONU for the November 11th Governorship Election
On NLC, Peter Obi And November 11,2023 Off-cycle Election
The chameleonic mentality and ruthlessness of Peter Obi, and porridge mendacity of Comr. Joe Ajaero and his NLC undemocratic coup have plummeted to the peak time for Sen Athan Achonu, the Illegal Guber candidate of the illegal faction of the Abure Labour party to enjoy political oblivion after November 11, 2023 gubernatorial off-cycle election in Imo State.
The LP is a law-abiding party of patriotic leaders, we strive to put Nigeria first by putting the country forward. We urge Nigerians to toe the path of patriotism to rebuild the nation in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
