Veteran Yoruba actress Mama Ereko has recounted the challenges grappled with in her marriage before she eventually pulled out.
Mama Ereko revealed that her husband frequently brought his girlfriends into their matrimonial home and slept with them.
The actress disclosed this in an interview on the official YouTube channel of Talk2dunnis TV, recalling despite the fact that her husband openly had affairs with other women, even while she was present in the house, she couldn’t challenge him.
According to her, the most baffling aspect of the toxic relationship while it lasted was her husband’s blatant disrespect for their marriage.
She alleged that he frequently brought one of his girlfriends into their home without any regard for her presence, an attitude she explained, not only humiliated her but also left her feeling powerless and trapped in a situation she could not control.
She also said that he cheating husband would go to great lengths to create opportunities for their encounters, stressing that on several occasions, he would deliberately send her on errands, knowing that his lover was coming over. This game of deception and manipulation made her feel isolated, as she had no support or means to fight back against the perfidy.
“I experienced a lot of problems when I was married to my husband. Sometimes my husband would send me on an errand because his girlfriend wanted to pay him a visit in our house.
My husband brings home his girlfriend, and they do have sex while I was at home with them. I usually get angry, but I cannot challenge my husband because I was always afraid of him,” she said.
She also revealed why she decided to remained unmarried afterwards.
She said it was borne out of the need to maintain her beauty and elegance despite her age.
According to her, the demands of marriage and intimacy can make a woman look older than her biological age.
“If I had remarried, you wouldn’t be praising me for still looking elegant and beautiful at my age. I didn’t remarry because the stress of having intercourse makes you look older than your age.
“I’m already a man, so I don’t need a man again because I don’t even remember how it feels to have intercourse with a man.”
