The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the full restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) following a temporary disruption.
In a statement issued on Monday, the board said CAPS was now fully operational and urged tertiary institutions to accelerate their admission processes to make up for lost time and meet the approved deadlines.
“With CAPS back online, institutions are urged to accelerate their admission processes to recover lost time and meet the agreed admission deadlines,” JAMB said.
The board also advised candidates who have received admission offers to promptly accept them to avoid delays in the admission process.
According to JAMB, the deadline for the 2026/2027 admission exercise is October 31, 2026, for public universities, while private universities have until November 30, 2026, to conclude their processes.
Other tertiary institutions are expected to complete their admissions by December 31, 2026.
JAMB further directed candidates who had previously been awaiting their results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination results.
The board said the update was necessary to ensure that candidates’ credentials were available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission activities.
“Following the release of the 2026 NECO SSCE results, candidates who previously awaited their results are advised to upload and/or verify them promptly to ensure their credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes,” the statement said.
JAMB expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
The board urged all stakeholders to take advantage of the restoration of CAPS and proceed with the admission process within the approved timelines.
