The Benue State House of Assembly on Sunday elected Hon. Berg Afled Emberga, representing Makurdi North Constituency, as its new Speaker.
Emberga replaced Hon. Aondona Dajoh, who resigned hours earlier amid a week-long leadership crisis that plagued the Assembly.
The election took place during an emergency sitting that began at about 4:30 p.m. and ended around 7 p.m.
