Honourable Adijat Adeleye has appraised the activities of the Culture and Tourism ministry of Ogun State in the last 10 months, concluding that it recorded significant milestones in promoting the State’s potentials to far and near places.
Governor Dapo Abiodun had on Friday dissolved the State Executive Council where Hon. Adijat Adeleye was a member and expressed appreciation to members for working towards the successful implementation of his administration’s “Building our Future Together Agenda”.
Abiodun announced the dissolution of the cabinet during a valedictory meeting at the Exco Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, and declared that his commissioners had individually and collectively served the state to the best of their ability.
“You have all worked together to serve the people through the successful implementation of our ‘Building our Future Together’ agenda and as encapsulated in the ISEYA mantra.
“We ran a good race. We made a difference in the lives of our people. You have your bits, and I appreciate you for all your efforts. You have become my immediate family. You must keep in touch because some of you may be called by your people in one capacity or the other.
“All of us started together, we are here together, God has promoted some of us, and we have not lost anybody.
“In line with the provisions, and sadly, I hereby formally dissolve this Executive Council today, May 26, 2023. I thank you for your sacrifices to your people and state,” the governor announced.
However, Hon. Adeleye who is the immediate past Commissioner for Culture & Tourism ministry, said while her tenure lasted, the unit worked in partnership with all stakeholders to create opportunities that showcased the diverse cultural heritage and tourism potential of the Ogun three senatorial districts.
The former member of the State House of Assembly where she represented Ifo 2 State Constituency remarkably, added that within the period in focus, local communities also benefited from the growth of the Culture and Tourism industry.
The ex – Special Adviser, Women Affairs made this known in a seven – paragraph note she penned to give a brief account of her stint in the ministry, expressing the confidence that the progress so far made would be enduring.
She also looked forward to contributing her quota again in new capacity towards the growth and development of the founding fathers’ legacy in the State.

Dearest ones,
It is with mixed emotions that I bid farewell to my role as the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, following a successful tenure of 10 months, having earlier served as Special Adviser (Women Affairs) for over two years. Serving in this capacity has been an incredible experience, one that I will forever cherish.
During my tenure in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, we have achieved significant milestones in promoting the culture and tourism potentials of the State beyond our shores. We have worked round the clock in partnership with all stakeholders to create opportunities that showcase our diverse cultural heritage and tourism potential in the three Senatorial Districts, while also ensuring that our local communities benefit from the growth of the industry.
It has been an honor to work alongside a team of dedicated individuals who are passionate about driving change in the local driven sector; together, we have accomplished a great deal, but there is still much more to be done.
I owe much heartfelt thanks to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, members of the State Executive Council, members of staff in the Ministry, Traditional Rulers, Cultural groups and members of the press.
I am proud of what we have achieved together as a strong team and remain confident that the progress we have made will continue.
I look forward to contributing my quota in new capacity towards the growth and development of our fathers’ legacy in the Gateway State.
