OSOGBO: The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has wielded the big stick against former Minister of Interior and two-time governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, suspending him for alleged anti-party activities.
This followed the resolution passed by the state APC which was also submitted to the national secretariat.
The decision was subsequently addressed to the party’s national chairman, Dr. Umar Ganduje.
The APC accused Aregbesola of creating divisions within the party by establishing a faction, a move that was deemed as undermining the party’s cohesion and unity, especially during a critical period in the State’s politics.
They also alleged that Aregbesola’s actions have created internal divisions, with party leaders claiming that his influence on certain groups has caused significant friction within APC.
Aregbosola’s suspension portends a bold move by the party’s state chapter to address perceived disloyalty and realign its leadership in preparation for elections ahead.
