Ogun NUJ Federated Chapel Re-elects Babalola Gafar as Secretary
Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, Federated Chapel, have re-elected Comrade Babalola Gafar as the Secretary of the chapel, following his emergence unopposed during the chapel’s election.
Gafar, who was the sole candidate for the position, secured the confidence of members after no other aspirant indicated interest in contesting the secretaryship, paving the way for his return for another term in office.
His re-election, according to members of the chapel, was a reflection of their confidence in his leadership qualities, commitment to the affairs of the chapel and contributions to the growth and unity of journalists within the fold.
Speaking after his emergence, Gafar expressed appreciation to members of the Federated Chapel for the confidence reposed in him, promising to justify their support through greater commitment, transparency and effective service.
He said his administration would continue to prioritise the welfare of members, unity among journalists and initiatives capable of strengthening the chapel and enhancing the professional development of its members.
Gafar further called for the continued cooperation and support of members, stressing that the task of building a stronger and more vibrant Federated Chapel required collective effort, mutual respect and commitment to the ideals of the NUJ.
Other Executives include Chairman, Orishabuyi Oluwafemi, Vice Chairman Idris Oderinde , Financial Secretary Osoba Olajide, Treasurer Yusuf Adeleke and auditor Fatai Sobande.
