Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has imposed a restriction on motorcycle operations between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. as part of efforts to tackle rising insecurity across the state.
The governor announced the directive through an Executive Order issued on Friday, stressing that his administration remains committed to securing the release of the kidnapped teachers and schoolchildren.
Makinde described each day the victims remain in captivity as painful for their families and the people of Oyo State, assuring residents that security operations are ongoing around the clock.
According to him, the abducted victims have neither been forgotten nor abandoned, despite the limited public disclosure of ongoing rescue efforts.
“We may not be able to disclose every step being taken because of the sensitive nature of the operations involved, but I ask our people not to mistake our silence for inaction. A great deal of work is being done behind the scenes,” the governor said.
