Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to report to the headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS) every last Friday of the month at 10 a.m. to sign an attendance register pending the determination of his case.
The judge also granted the former governor bail in the sum of ₦100 million with one surety in like amount.
In her ruling, Justice Abdulmalik stated that the surety must reside in either Maitama or Asokoro, Abuja, and provide a Certificate of Occupancy for a landed property to be deposited at the court registry.
The court further ruled that the surety must be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 17 and present proof of salary payments for at least three months, verified through a letter from the surety’s bank manager within the court’s jurisdiction.
Other bail conditions include the submission of an affidavit of means, execution of a bail bond, and provision of a recent passport photograph.
The court also directed El-Rufai to surrender all valid international passports, while the surety must provide a verification letter from their department alongside a tax clearance certificate covering the last six months.
Justice Abdulmalik warned that any violation of the bail conditions would result in automatic revocation of the bail.
Additionally, the court ordered the submission of a letter of attestation from the Chairman of the Kaduna Traditional Council as part of the bail requirements.
