Primate Elijah Ayodele has cautioned Bayo Adelabu to heed his advice if he hopes to win the Oyo State governorship election in 2027, warning that he could still lose even if he secures the ticket of the All Progressives Congress.
In a viral video circulating on social media, Ayodele addressed Adelabu directly, describing him as “my son” while insisting that his political success depended on seeking his guidance.
“My son Bayo Adelabu, you are my son, I love you, but if you miss it, what you need to become governor is in my hands. Come and take it. Try it, let APC put you there. If you don’t take it, you will lose,” the cleric said.
Ayodele further made strong claims about his spiritual influence, stating that what Adelabu needs to win the election is within his control. He also asserted that his declaration was based on divine revelation.
The remarks have generated reactions online due to their controversial tone and the cleric’s claims regarding political outcomes.
Adelabu recently resigned from the cabinet of Bola Tinubu to pursue his ambition of becoming governor of Oyo State in the 2027 election.
As of the time of filing this report, Adelabu has not publicly responded to Ayodele’s statements.
