The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Felix Morka, has taken a swipe at former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi over his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a post on X on Sunday, Morka branded Obi a “political rolling stone,” accusing him of hopping between parties in pursuit of an easy path to the presidency.
He claimed Obi avoids internal party contests and prefers what he described as a “platter of gold” route to power.
Listing Obi’s political journey across parties, Morka mocked his movement from APGA to PDP, LP, and ADC, suggesting another switch may be imminent. He capped his criticism by calling the former Anambra State governor a “political drifter.”
Obi, however, had earlier announced his exit from the ADC, citing persistent internal crises and a toxic political climate within the party. In his statement, he said the decision came after careful reflection on divisions that have hindered the party’s focus on national issues.
He clarified that his departure was not driven by personal conflicts with figures such as David Mark or Atiku Abubakar, both of whom he said he respects.
Obi also pushed back against claims of political desperation, insisting his priority remains improving Nigerians’ welfare and building a functional society.
Despite leaving the party, he reaffirmed his belief that competent and compassionate leadership can still transform the country.
