Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, on Tuesday arrived at Chinua Achebe International Airport ahead of the second-term inauguration of Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
A video released by Anambra State New Media confirmed the arrival of the dignitaries, showing them touching down at the airport in Umueri for the high-profile ceremony.
The presence of the trio had been anticipated, as earlier reports indicated they would attend the inauguration event.
Other notable figures, including elder statesman Emeka Anyaoku, were also expected to grace the occasion, underscoring its national significance.
The inauguration is taking place at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square, with traditional rulers from all 179 communities in Anambra State and monarchs from across Nigeria in attendance.
Soludo, who secured re-election on November 8, 2025, under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA), mobilised party members across the state’s 326 wards for the ceremony.
Security has been significantly reinforced, with personnel from multiple agencies strategically deployed across the state to ensure a smooth and safe event.
The governor and his deputy had rounded off their first term on Sunday with an interdenominational thanksgiving service at the International Convention Centre.
