A federal lawmaker representing Imeko Afon federal constituency of Ogun State in the 10th National Assembly, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, has declared his intention to contest the governorship seat of Ogun State in 2027.
Isiaka, a three-time governorship candidate in the state (2011, 2015 and 2019) disclosed his ambition to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun on Thursday while speaking on the current affairs programme of the Eagle 102.5 fm located in Ijebu-Ode area of the state.
He revealed that his ambition would be shaped by internal democracy and due process within the All Progressives Congress (APC), which just concluded its ward congress across the state’s 236 wards.
He said, “Yes, I am interested in the governorship. However, this is only the beginning of a process, and it must be approached with patience, discipline, and respect for the structures of the party.
“I believe strongly in internal democracy and due process. Any aspiration, no matter how long held or deeply felt, must be tested against established structures and collective judgment.”
