Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has produced 4,141 graduates for the 2024/2025 academic set with 104 of them graduating with First Class honours degree.
A student identified as Osiama Joy Chinyere from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics emerged as the overall best graduate with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.85.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Kehinde, disclosed this on Wednesday at the University’s Senate Building during a press briefing to commence the 33rd convocation ceremony of the institution scheduled for January 31, 2026.
Prof. Olusola also revealed that 1,771 of the graduates entered the Second – Class Upper Division category, 1,896 in the Second-Class Lower Division, 285 had Third Class Degrees, two graduated with Pass while 41 earned the Veterinary Medicine degree.
According to the Vice Chancellor, FUNAAB is releasing the graduands into the world as a new generation of innovative entrepreneurs, skilled professionals, visionary leaders and talented change- makers.
He said the 38 – year – old university remained committed to sustaining the noble legacy of its founders by upholding academic excellence, moral discipline and institutional development.
He noted that FUNAAB has continued to produce competent and well-cultured graduates who are excelling in different spheres of life across Nigeria and beyond.
He also announced that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has reinstated Management Science programmes earlier removed, saying Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Economics have now been reintroduced.
He lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu – led Federal Government for Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) initiative, revealing that NELFUND has disbursed a total of N840m to FUNAAB students.
