For distinguishing herself and reflecting the values of excellence and scholarship which Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, upholds, the institution has hailed Bukola Ifeoluwa Osunrinde, its overall best graduate for achieving a perfect Calculative Grade Point Aggregate (CGPA) of 5.0.
Describing the achievement as a remarkable feat, the 21 – year – old premier education university in Nigeria said that Osunrinde excelled through “academic rigour and determination,” which explained the TASFUED’s resolve to highlight it with an “immense pride.”
Bukola Osunrinde will be formally recognized, honoured and celebrated on the convocation day, January 29, 2026 where three exceptional Nigerians – the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun and the elder statesman and former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba – will also be bestowed with the awards of Honorary Doctor of Science (D.Sc., honors causa) same day by the university.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adekunle Olanrewaju Adeogun, gave the commendation at the weekend during a press briefing at the Senate Chamber to mark the 17th convocation ceremony.
Prof. Adeogun revealed that the university produced a total of 4,785 graduates from the 2024/2025 set of regular students.
A breakdown of the graduates showed that 4 obtained First Class Honours, 1,466 obtained Second Class Upper Division
2,768 made Second Class Lower Division while
492 and 19 obtained Third Class Pass Degrees respectively.
The AG Vice Chancellor described the 17th convocation as a celebration of progress, national recognition, and renewed commitment to educational excellence, even as he also reaffirmed TASFUED’s resolve to remain Africa’s leading University of Education.
He reckoned the graduates as “legion of professionals” and identified peaceful atmosphere, stable academic calendar, and serene learning environment as the institution’s greatest strengths.
He said, “One of the values we uphold as a University is academic excellence. Hence, it is with immense pride that I highlight the outstanding achievement of one of the graduates of the 2024/2025 set, Bukola Ifeoluwa Osunrinde, who achieved a perfect CGPA of 5.0.
“Indeed, this is a remarkable feat achieved through the academic rigour with determination. She has distinguished herself, and this achievement reflects the values of excellence and scholarship that our institution upholds. We honour and celebrate her.”
