Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a motorcyclist identified as Godonu Lowe of Omolende Village via Idogo, for killing his wife and transporting the fresh corpse to an unknown place in a bid to escape from justice.
The Daily Crucible reports that police operatives from the Ilaro Police Division acting on credible tip off from an anonymous informant, intercepted the suspect and a sack fastened to the back of his motorcycle on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
Police source said that when the sack was untied and searched, the operatives were shocked to discover the fresh corpse of an adult female, which turned out to be that of the suspect’s wife.
The police spokesperson of the command, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirming the arrest in a statement on Thursday to The Daily Crucible, disclosed that an anonymous informant assisted the police with timely information that led to the suspect’s arrest.
“The Divisional Police Officer in Ilaro received credible information that a suspected felon, Acting swiftly, police operatives intercepted the suspect and a sack tied to the back of his motorcycle was untied. The content was discovered to be the corpse of an adult female, later identified as his wife.
“The body bore marks of violence, bleeding around the neck, suggesting foul play. A blood-stained cutlass was recovered at the crime scene. The prime suspect was taken into custody while the remains of the victim have been evacuated to the State Morgue in Ilaro for preservation and autopsy,” she stated.
CSP Odutola quoted the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, as commending the anonymous informant and urging members of the public to support the command by providing timely and credible information to assist enhance crime prevention and detection in the state.
According to her, even the slightest suspicion reported to the police could save lives.
