An outdoor advertising practitioner, Hon. Tola Olutayo, has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for what he described as his “remarkable strides and purposeful leadership in Ogun State since 2019.”
This came on the heels of the harsh rating of Abiodun’s administration by the state chapter of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), which dismissed the governor’s six years as “uneventful” and one of “gross and unpardonable incompetence” in its 2025 Democracy Day message to the citizens and residents of Ogun State.
But Olutayo who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/ CEO) of Amtol – Tek Outdoor Media and Vice President Ogun State Advertising Practitioner Association (OGAPASS), said the state has experienced a remarkable transformation, particularly in the area of infrastructural development under the administration of Abiodun.
He stated this on Saturday in a release made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital, stressing that the governor’s vision for inclusive governance and sustainable development has not only repositioned the state as a socio-economic hub, but has also elevated its status nationally.
Olutayo identified the rehabilitation and construction of over 6, 000 kilometers of critical roads across the state’s three senatorial districts, including the Ijebu-Ode-Epe expressway, Sagamu Interchange, Atan-Lusada-Agbara Road, and key access roads in Abeokuta, Ota and Ilaro as some of the present administration’s infrastructural milestones.
According to him, the road infrastructure has improved connectivity, boosted commerce, and eased mobility in the Gateway State.
He also identified the delivery of over 4,000 of affordable housing units in Kobape, Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu, and Ota to address the urban housing deficit and create jobs in the construction sector as well a the revitalisation of primary healthcare centers across 236 wards and the renovation of public schools under the Ogun Digital Classrooms Initiative as other areas where Abiodun has performed remarkably well.
Olutayo hailed the governor for the establishment of Gateway International Airport in Iperu and the expansion of industrial clusters in Sagamu, Ewekoro, and Ado-Odo/Ota, saying the bold steps have positioned the state as a logistics and manufacturing hub in Nigeria.
He said the TechHub and e-governance platforms initiated by the governor are attestations to his forward-thinking leadership in a 21st-century digital economy and prayed God to grant him more wisdom and strength to propel Ogun to the next level of growth and development.
He stated, “Your emphasis on ICT infrastructure through initiatives like Ogun TechHub and e-governance platforms reflects forward-thinking leadership in a 21st-century digital economy.
“Your administration’s inclusive approach, captured under the “ISEYA” development agenda — infrastructure, social welfare and wellbeing, education, youth empowerment, and agriculture — has not only guided policy but translated into real-life impact for millions of Ogun State residents.
“Indeed, Your Excellency, Ogun State is on a trajectory of sustainable growth, thanks to your focus on infrastructure as the backbone of development. Your legacy will be remembered as one that turned promise into progress and transformed the Gateway State into a beacon of modern governance in Nigeria.”
