The Administrative Panel of Enquiry on Duplication of Certificate of Occupancy (CofO), has submitted its report and expressed the hope that Prince Dapo Abiodun – led state government would find it useful in addressing the illegality going on in the state’s Bureau of Lands and Survey.
The Daily Crucible recalls that a five-man panel of enquiry on duplication of C of O was set up on June 21, 2023, to investigate the illegal duplication of the certificate of occupancy of one Abiola Dosunmu landed properties registered with the same particulars by officials of the Bureau of Lands and Survey.
The Adedeji Sowunmi – led panel which investigated the matter, submitted its report on Wednesday to the Ogun State Head of Service(HoS), Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, and expressed gratitude to the state government and the HoS for finding its members worthy to serve.
The chairman, Sowunmi noted that the assignment was duly completed without fear or favour, saying consultations with necessary stakeholders which included officials within and outside the Bureau, the State Internal Revenue Service, divisional police headquarters among others were of help to the Panel.
“The assignment has been completed and it is our great pleasure to submit, we hope that the State government would find it useful in addressing the illegality in the Bureau of Lands and Survey. We are grateful to the State Government and the Head of Service for finding us worthy to serve the State in this capacity,’’ he said.
Responding, Mr. Fagbohun, commended them for taking up the challenge to serve for the progress of the Civil Service.
He assured the Panel that the State government would look into their recommendations and act accordingly, saying their efficiency would have an impact on the processes in the Civil Service, particularly in the Bureau of Lands and Survey.
The Head of Service enjoined members of the Panel to share their experience with the people who worked with them in the course of the assignment for them to learn more on the job.
The HoS also charged workers to protect the sanctity of the Civil Service at all times when dealing with the public, uphold the trust the public has in them and save the civil service from image challenges.
