Youth leaders across all ten wards in Odeda State Constituency have declared unwavering support for the return of Ogun State House of Assembly Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide, ahead of the 2027 general election, amid alleged moves to block his candidacy under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The show of solidarity was led by the Secretary to Odeda Local Government, Adebayo Oyekunle, who joined youth representatives from all ten wards at a gathering in Odeda. The leaders praised Elemide’s leadership as Speaker and his representation of the constituency, describing him as a grassroots politician with a strong record of delivering development.
They highlighted several projects attributed to his tenure, including rural electrification across 15 villages in Obantoko ward, rehabilitation of schools and a primary health centre in Alabata, road improvements, access to potable water, and solar power initiatives across the constituency.
Oyekunle urged stakeholders to rally behind Elemide’s bid to secure the APC ticket and retain his seat, stressing that his legislative experience is critical to sustaining quality representation for Odeda.
Youth leaders from various wards, including Obantoko, Odeda, Alabata, Olodo, and Ilugun, echoed the call, pledging massive support for his return. They argued that maintaining the Speakership position depends on his re-election, noting that his leadership has brought tangible benefits through infrastructure and empowerment programmes.
The endorsement comes amid reports that some party figures are pushing alternative candidates.
However, APC youth leaders dismissed such moves, insisting that Elemide remains the best choice to advance the constituency’s interests.
Party leaders in Odeda also joined the youths, describing the Speaker as an exceptional politician whose contributions have significantly impacted the area’s development.
