Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele has appeared in a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama, Abuja this morning in connection with economic sabotage – related offences but the Court ordered that he should remand in Kuje Correctional facility pending ruling on his bail application.
Justice Hamza Muazu issued the order on Friday after Emefiele’s arraignment and his plea of not guilty to a six-count amended charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).Justice Muazu was taken.
The Daily Crucible had few hours earlier, reported that the embattled ex – CBN Governor would be docked today to take his guilty or not guilty plea.
Justice Muazu listened to the arguments on Emefiele’s bail application and afterwards adjourned till November 22 for ruling on the bail application and November 28 for the commencement of trial.
