Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari, son of Nigeria’s late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged victorious in the APC primary election for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat after a massive landslide win.
Yusuf Buhari was said to have polled an overwhelming 5,849 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Auwal Lawal Daura, who secured just 21 votes in the keenly watched primary election.
Multiple sources said the outcome sparked widespread reactions across political circles in Katsina State, with many describing the result as a strong show of influence by the Buhari political dynasty in the constituency.
Party supporters reportedly celebrated the announcement of the results, as Yusuf Buhari now moves closer to contesting for a seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC).
