President Bola Tinubu has blamed his political opponents for the hunger and poverty in the country, insisting his administration is working to fix the challenges.
Tinubu spoke on Saturday at the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign for the 2027 general elections, held at the Ranchers Bees Stadium, also known as Kaduna Township Stadium, in Kaduna State.
The President said opposition parties have no moral ground to complain about economic hardship because they created it.
“I have an argument. I hear my opponent talking about hunger, poverty. Who created it? They did! They created the hunger, they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” Tinubu said.
He defended his administration’s record, noting that salaries are being paid regularly and that state governors are delivering development in their states.
“We pay salaries regularly. Our governors are working. I am proud of them. They are developing,” he said.
Tinubu thanked the people of Kaduna for their support in the last presidential election, saying their votes contributed to his victory.
“You gave me joy to remember the victory you gave me to become president. I come again to thank you,” he said.
The President appealed to Nigerians to give him another term in office to sustain his promises of prosperity, continuity, progress and development.
