Youth based group – Coalition of Youth Leaders for One Nigeria (COYLON), has expressed total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the performance of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The coalition made this known after its meeting in Abuja, stating that the Minister In less than a year had transformed the FCT by constructing roads, streetlights, bridges, parks and improving the security networks in the Nigerian Capital City.
The coalition, which explained that it arrived at the decision after touring some project sites in Abuja, said Wike’s performance inspired them to support the President.
The group in a statement on Saturday by its Acting National President, Isaac Aboje Owoicho and Acting Secretary Miss Fortune Joseph added that indigens and residents of Abuja were showing massive support to the President because of Wike’s performance.
The statement read: “We are witnessing a sporadic transformation in the FCT as evident in the roads, streetlights, the bridges, the parks, as well as the dramatic twist of the gory security situation that was bedeviling the Federal Capital Territory before the arrival of Wike.
“In all sincerity, we are impressed with the precision and sterling leadership of Mr. President in the appointment of the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT Chief Barr Nyesom Wike aka Mr Projects
“Wike has won our support because his policies are no respecter of class, ethnicity and or religion which is how it is supposed to be unlike before when policies were only made to favour the rich people.
“The low cost housing that will soon come into the budget is to favour those ordinary citizens. The coming of Wike has giving us free access to the office of the minister to lay your complaints and get result.
“The autonomy currently enjoyed by the FCT through the instrumentality of Mr. President has strategically positioned the FCT to function like a state. This is pivotal to the unprecedented reforms being experienced at the FCT.”
The group noted that Wike had proven Mr President as a pragmatist, a magnet that moves both friends and foes into his enchanting orbit. And any leadership of this magnitude leaves a system illuminated.
The statement read further: “Appointment of Nyesom Wike as the FCT Minister has proven Mr President as a leader poised with excellence devoid of political sentiment and bitterness.
“The beautiful thing is that, the encomium showered on Wike as a result of his performance today is a credit to the All Progress Congress (APC) government and a proactive measure to reclaim FCT back to the APC in any polls
“We couldn’t have asked for a better Minister. Wike, indeed, has expended courage beyond words to have dismantled every iota of tribal and ethnic sentiment that had earlier thrived as a norm in the FCT.
“Indeed, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has proven to be a Pan-Nigerian, a true Nationalist and a political strategist of no mean standing. He has proven to be a man of immense political sagacity, succeeding in truncating the instituted ethnic and political divide that was enthroned prior to his emergence.
“Thus, we sincerely say thank you our President as we submit our continued support and we admonish every citizen to bury every politics of hate and bitterness so as to build a prosperous FCT and Nigeria as a whole.”
