The Royalty Club of Egbaland (RCE) has elected its new executives that would pilot the affairs of the Club for the next two years.
The election which took place at the Club Headquarters in Ake Palace, saw the emergence of Mr. Tunde Aregbesola as the President and Aare Leke Adebesin who was re-elected as the Vice president. The General- Secretary was Alhaji Wale Fajobi and Mr. Akeem Ajobiewe took the position of Treasurer.
Others are, Chief Tunde Alimi as the new Financial Secretary, Princess Adejoke Adepegba, Director of Publicity, Alhaja Sunkanmi Shogbamu as the Director of Social and Welfare, while Mr. Tunde Edunjobi was retained as the Director of Sport.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Mr. Tunde Aregbesola who is the incumbent Accountant- General of Ogun State, thanked the members for believing in him to steer the ship of the club for the next two years, asking members to continue supporting in order to move the Club forward.
” I really want to thank you all for believing in me. A tree cannot make a forest, so, I need your support. We have been moving forward and we should not stop. By God’s grace, I know it will get better in the next two years. Try as much as possible to avoid rancour and problems but work together. There are many clubs in Egbaland but RCE will be the best and I promise not to disappoint you” he said.
Speaking also, the immediate past President of the Club, Commander ‘Seni Ogunyemi appreciated members for their support which helped him to have a successful tenure, promising to work together with the new president, for the club to achieve greatness.
Royalty Club of Egbaland was established 15 years ago with the mission to contribute its quota to enthronement of infrastructural development, educational advancement, sporting activities, skill acquisition, actively engage in all lofty activities as may benefit Egbaland, Ogun State, its indegenes and descendants all over the world.
Members of the Club cut across all works of life including notable royal fathers, professionals, business men and women, eminent public servants, among others.The Life Patron is the paramount ruler and Alake of Egbaland HRM, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR – Okukenu 1V and the Aro of Egbaland, High Chief Yinka Kufile the Chairman of its Board of Trustees.
