Delta Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed the petition of All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege, challenging the victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Senator Omo – Age had sought the order of the Tribunal to overturn the March 18 governorship election victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori but on Friday, September 29, 2023, Justice C.H Ahuchaogu, in a four hour judgement, held that the petitioner was unable to prove his case against PDP’s Oborevwori.
The Tribunal held that Omo – Agege was unable prove allegation of non – substantial compliance with the Electoral Act against Governor Oborevwori (second respondent).
Ahuchaogu also ruled that the petitioner failed to prove that Governor Oborevwori was not duly elected by majority of lawful votes cast.
